Extended shelf life for greater flexibility

Cryo-freezing technology also allows for easier storage and transportation of food, with a larger possible radius of distribution. By freezing food at extremely low temperatures, it can be stored for much longer periods of time without the need for preservatives or other chemicals.

Our longer shelf life allows for greater flexibility in terms of production and distribution of food products:

  • 12-month frozen shelf life providing full store coverage

  • 10 days refrigerated shelf life to minimize shrink and maximize profitability

Our facilities and food safety management are certified and regulated

The food safety management system FSSC 22000 is based on standards such as ISO 22000. As a company committed to food safety, this certification model ensures our food safety standards and processes.

The FDA regulates specific labeling elements, including nutrition information. The FDA ensures that our products that contain meat and poultry are safe, sanitary, wholesome, and honestly labeled.
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA FSIS) regulates the safety and labeling of products that contain meat.

Minimizes the size of ice crystals

Cryo-freezing minimizes the size of ice crystals, which can damage the cellular structure of food and cause it to deteriorate rapidly. By freezing food quickly, ice crystals have less time to form, which means that the food retains more of its original texture and flavor when it is thawed. This is particularly important for delicate foods, such as fruits and vegetables, which can lose their freshness and become mushy or discolored when frozen using traditional methods.

One of the secrets behind our long-lasting freshness is the innovative technique we employ called gas flushing

Gas flushing is a preservation method that involves replacing the oxygen within our product packaging with a carefully selected gas mixture.

By removing oxygen, we effectively create an environment that inhibits the growth of spoilage-causing microorganisms, such as bacteria and mold. This means that our frozen meals retain their flavor, texture, and nutritional value for an extended period.

No artificial preservatives

Our state-of-the-art freezing process, as well as the process we used called gas flushing allows us to eliminate the need for artificial preservatives and additives while protecting the integrity, nutrients, texture and flavor of the food. We harness the power of low temperatures to ensure our food gets to your table at the high quality when you’re ready for it.

Certified sustainable wild-caught seafood

Our wild-caught seafood products are certified by the Marine Stewardship Council. MSC is a global nonprofit seeking to end overfishing around the world in pursuit of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14, Life Below Water.

MSC-certified fisheries are committed to sustainable stocks, reduced environmental impact, and effective management. They catch from a productive, sustainable population of fish. Climate change is having profound impacts on ocean health, and it's crucial that oceans are fished sustainably. Seafood is a key component of food system resilience. Sustainable fisheries minimize their impact on other species and the wider marine environment, contributing to food system sustainability.

Our supplier of Alaska pollock is the world's largest whitefish fishery, which is MSC-certified. Choosing MSC-certified seafood products that carry the blue fish label helps end overfishing and supports healthy oceans.

Our cryo-freezing technology locks in flavor, texture, and freshness

Cryo-freezing technology is a technique that involves rapidly freezing food much faster than other methods at extremely low temperatures, typically between -40 to -80 degrees Celsius.

This process is highly effective at preserving the quality, nutrient content, texture, and flavor of food.

Cryo-freezing slows the growth of microorganisms that can spoil food. When food is frozen at low temperatures, these microorganisms are unable to reproduce. This means that the food stays fresher for longer. This is especially important for perishable items, such as meat and fish.
